Peru
Trip Huge Success! What a priviledge and honor to be part of a Native
dance team traveling to Peru. Three weeks of touring the country, 70 performances
highlights
include gifting
the president of Congress with an elk antler pipe handmade by Bryan given to
him on national television in Lima.
Second week, with four other Native people
on a 13 hour bus ride plus and 8 hour boat ride into the jungles to meet with
and perform for the tribes living there. Reconvened on the third week in the
town of Cusco more performances finalizing in Machu Pichu(spelling?). Had the
honor of putting tobacco and offering my humble on the very stone where the
Inca people sacrificed human beings.
Peruvian political leaders have established a Peruvian version of the Bureau of Indian Affairs to help bring reconciliation with the millions of tribal people living in Peru. Leaders said our visit was historical and profound. Spiritual leaders had visions previous to our arrival of the condor feather meeting the eagle feather. Our goal was to help the many tribal people that have been killed and ill treated to be proud of their tribal heritiage and and embrace their God given identity.
